Since Supporting And Linking Tradeswomen (SALT) started in 2009, it has become slightly easier for women to gain apprenticeships but we still have a long way to go until there are equal opportunities for women in the trades. SALT is a non-profit incorporated organisation, which began to provide a support network for tradeswomen, apprentices and women who wish to enter the trades.
The SALT Australia conference held in Wollongong later this month will see the coming together of tradeswomen from across Australia and overseas to look at what has been done to support them. SALT initiatives are currently unique in the world and the conference aims to continue this work by generate a new and exciting way forward. This is an opportunity for tradeswomen and interested organisations to work together, create new and original concepts backed by tangible action plans. The conference will also showcase suppliers to women in the trades and provide a wonderful opportunity for face-to-face networking.
Wollongong Town Hall, Crown & Kembla Streets, Wollongong NSW 2500
Thursday 11th August 6pm to 9:30pm and
Friday 12th August 8:30am to 4:30pm 2016
